Unlocking Landscapes in Conversation

Clare and Sarah sat in a green space on a bench chatting with a blue sky and sea in the background.

To summarise some of the chats we have had over the duration of the project we recorded three mini podcasts on location in Cornwall in February 2023. The first is a discussion on the role of sensory gardens between Clare Hickman and Sarah Bell; followed by a second chat on sensory history, culture and interpretation, recorded sheltering within the shell of a ruined tin mine in St Agnes. For the third podcast we were joined in Porthpean by Becca Lovell (Becca took the photo of us opposite) to talk about the climate crisis, biodiversity and landscape change.

In these informal conversations we ask questions about sensory diversity and landscape inclusion, the role of culture and sensory history in landscape interpretation and how we can use arts and humanities thinking to help face an uncertain future.

You can access the playlist of all three tracks via soundcloud by clicking on the orange arrow below.
